Day 131: Erko circles

This modest pair of earrings comes from an Erko school fete from about 5 years ago. They are light and nice to wear, not that I've worn them for quite awhile - they were hiding in the very back of the jewellry box.

I took the opportunity to sleep in this morning after a restless night. My legs have been uncomfortable at night and I'm trying to sleep with them propped up on pillows which isn't ideal. At 10.30am I headed over for a lovely massage with Orsi, my lymphodema specialist. She was able to shift some fluid on my right side, but has booked me in for a full lymphatic massage next week to help get my whole body working more efficiently, and hopefully moving some of the fluid from my legs.

As Orsi's clinic is close to the coast, Rob and I took the opportunity to have a walk along the coast. I suggested Maroubra as it isn't as hilly as the other eastern beaches. Good god there are some ugly properties on that stunning headland. Clearly there's been a few backhanders to the councillors over the years! The ocean was choppy and moody today and it was really windy, but it was so refreshing to have a blast of sea air. Over dinner, we were telling the boys about our visit today and Rob started singing Little Pattie's 'Maroubra Stomp' - a song I'd never heard in my life - apparently it was only kept from getting to No 1 in the charts by the Beatles 'I want to hold your hand'!

When we got home there was a gorgeous bunch of flowers on my door step with a thoughtful message from Paul and Kristie Kelleher, the brother of my brother-in-law Chris. The golden web keeps emanating outwards, and I'm so fortunate to be connected to so many thoughtful people.

Looks likely my radiotherapy might be delayed for a little while; I'll get confirmation on Monday. For now, I'm planning a relaxing weekend including a joint belated birthday dinner for Paul and Rob tomorrow night.
