Day 74: Angus' caramel squares

What a beautiful autumn day Sydney turned on today. Let's hope it keeps up over Easter after all the rain we've had. I went out and soaked up some Vitamin D with Rob and Molly this morning on a walk in Sydney Park. We were lucky to run into dear Bec and Jodie, part of the Erko web, which added more sparkle to the day.

I arrived home to the delivery of a bright and beautiful bouquet of flowers from my lovely Aunt and Uncle, Jenny and Kev. These were just what I needed to boost my mood today. Jenny and Kev have kept in contact throughout this ordeal and I feel so grateful for their care and concern. In Dad's large family, this is the couple that we were closest to growing up, and it's remained that way as adults. Their three boys - Scott, Martin and Simon- are younger than me, but are close in age to my younger siblings and spent lots of time at our place. Jenny and Mum were incredibly close friends and I know Jenny misses her terribly. Jenny is an amazing cook, and together Kev and Jen are wonderful hosts, always at the ready with a great bottle of red and a wonderful meal! We always look forward to seeing them here or in Armidale.

Re Day 10 -  Pauline sent me a great link from the Guardian today - Sink the pink - I'm in agreement 100%!

Day 74 and I'm still pretty average. I had a better sleep last night, but my mouth remains sore and dry which keeps waking me up. I have little blisters breaking out randomly all over my body, and the headache seems unresponsive to the usual meds. I'm just taking it as easy as I can. responding to my latest fancy, Robbie made me banana and nectarine bread today. It is delicious!

I selected these earrings today for an obvious reason - Angus' chose them for me at a school fete a few years ago. They look like little caramel sweets - which are a favourite of his and probably explain the selection. It's nice to have them on for his welcome home. He had a wonderful time, and told me the only thing he missed was his dog. I think, given Molly's reaction to his homecoming, the feeling was mutual!
Welcome home Angus!

Tonight I'm home with my two younger boys, while Robbie has headed out with Paulie to see the Swans play a big match (thanks to Steph sharing her season tickets) - time for a win!
