Day 15: Lindy's Silver butterfly disks

I'm so blessed to be surrounded by such a close and loving family. After my special time with Cazy yesterday, today I've had calls from Ree and Paulie, and I had a visit from my wonderful sister Linda. Newcastle-based, I get to see Lindy less frequently than I'd like, but in recent months she's made a huge effort to get to Sydney to help Rob with the boys while I was in hospital. Together with her gorgeous husband Chris, she made sure we had a happy Christmas at a time when I was recovering from surgery and not up to managing the madness.

The Kelleher clan
Lindy has a warm and infectious personality; she draws people to her like a magnet and maintains many lifelong friendships. She is a wonderful mother to three gorgeous boys (who all tower over me, and everyone else, with Hugh at 6'4, Charlie at 6'7 and Ollie catching up to his brothers at a rapid rate).

Lindy giving a show-stopping conference presentation, tambourine in hand.
Linda runs a highly successful Intimo lingerie business where she combines her joie de vivre with impressive team building skills. She has a fabulous sense of fun and can play a tambourine better than anyone I know! She's a ray of sunshine, and definitely brightened my day today.

Today I was wearing a pretty pair of silver disks with a delicate butterfly imprint that Lindy gave me for my birthday a few years ago. Seeing them today, Linda remembered that she'd bought them in Brisbane with her dearest friend, our 'honorary sister', Lucy Maguire/Kennedy - so they feel extra special.

Day 15 started out a bit rough, with a surprising hit of nausea around 3.30am. It made me reach for the additional anti-nausea meds for the first time this round, and they worked well. I had a long visit with Dr Kath to complete the paperwork necessary for me to access supportive therapies. I always leave these appointments buoyed and grateful.  Encouraging messages of support continue to flow in. Another good day.

  1. Gorgeous photos of Lindy! Love the one of the conference presentation. Perhaps I should consider tambourine lessons before this year's Social Policy Conference? So glad you have got your care plan sorted with the wonderful Dr. Kath. That should make a few things easier. Fifteen days ticked off already.

Day 217: 25/25 Radiocity with Mum's pearl necklace

Finally, after two rounds of surgery, 6 chemo infusions and 25 radiotherapy sessions the treatment schedule is D O N E!  ...(aside, that is,...
