Day 194: 9/25 Radiocity with Owl necklace

We woke early this morning with a call for Robbie from his sister in law Annie to tell him Aunty Beryl had died peacefully over night. It was very sad news, but also came as some relief knowing she didn't linger and suffer too long. She was such an important person in Robbie's life and will be greatly missed by him. She lived a simple life, cooking and caring for her siblings throughout her 90 years. No one will ever be able to match Aunty Beryl's baking - her lamingtons and sponge cakes were second to none.

I love this photo of Beryl and James - about 2 - eating one of her lamingtons. Precious.

Robbie took on the job with Annie of organising the details of the funeral, and managed to quickly get everything in place for Friday. I've been able to get a free pass from Rowena to miss Friday's session so I'm able to fly up with the boys on Thursday afternoon.

After a sombre walk this morning, Rob took me to Radiotherapy this morning. It was the first time he's been able to do it and it made such a difference not having the stress of parking.

Once we were done we headed back across to collect Angus to take him on a tour of St Andrews School in preparation for a possible change next year, if not for Year 7. When we got home I was exhausted. I think the excitement of the weekend and today's news caught up with me, so I headed off to bed for the rest of the afternoon for a deep sleep.

Today I was wearing a sweet necklace that was a mother's day gift from the boys of an owl necklace; the wings open to reveal a small clock. It's a reminder of how quickly time passes and to make the most of everyday. Two cliches which are very true.
